Manuka oil is a product from the manuka tree, which grows in New Zealand. Its extraordinary properties have been known to the Māori people for centuries, and the oil is said to have a cleansing and disinfecting effect. A few drops on a fragrance stone or in an aroma lamp provide a pleasant aroma. Essential oils are extracted from different parts of plants and have been used for thousands of years for their therapeutic properties. The oils have many uses, for example in perfumes and skincare, in aromatherapy and as flavourings in baking and cooking. Essential oils are highly concentrated and should be handled with care.
